Richwood Script & Media can improve your script with
Screenplay Development

You don't need a reader's coverage, a wanna-be writer's gripes, a frustrated English major's theories or a novice's guess.  You need a former A-list VP who has seen hundreds of scripts, developed for the best in the business and knows what gets past a "pass".

Your Screenplay Consultation

Blair Richwood is your top-quality development executive  -- on the page, where it counts.  Order Development-by-the-Hour ™ for whatever you need (review all our services) or our popular ScriptNotes Development Package,  a comprehensive 3-part service:

1) Notes on-the-Page
Unlike the vague "make it funnier" notes we've all seen, this unique process of detailed attention to the writing actually shows up on your page.  The result includes extensive notations, problems, solutions, trims, structural suggestions, edits, dialogue tightened or reassigned, along with highlights of what not to change.  You get concrete tasks to take the material to the next level, rather than just a list of theoretical ideas or quotes from some seminar. This script, and the next, is improved for good.

2) Development Report
You receive a report of extensive notes on these foremost issues as applicable:
            1.    Premise 9.      Character and Conflict
            2.    Genre 10.    Dialogue
            3.    Theme 11.    Marketability
            4.    Story 12.    Title
            5.    Plot 13.     Production value
            6.    Subplot 14.     Overall style
            7.    Structure 15.    Tone
            8.    Pace 16.     Page Notes

This report resembles a detailed in-house dissection of the material, to address what can be done in the next rewrite in the most constructive voice.  Each topic assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the material.   Questions are raised to illustrate how the script will be perceived by a reader and solutions are suggested.  The Page Notes section elaborates on specific points as needed, with the page numbers for reference.

3) Your Follow-up Story Meeting
After you review your annotated material and the Development Report, we schedule a telephone Story Meeting to answer any questions you (or your writer) may have, discuss options, and raise additional ideas.  This may be a conference call, and can last up to an hour.  Further calls and in-person sessions can be scheduled as Development-by-the-Hour™.

This 3-part ScriptNotes Development Package costs $850. and is available on the first read of a script.

Richwood Script & Media offers a confidential service intended only for the client, but a second copy of the notes can be prepared without headings, suitable for you to share on your letterhead.  The Report can also be sent via e-mail or on a Word disc for your convenience.

Other services include Development by the Hour for $100., a Sell Sheet for $350.  Pitch Coaching beginning at $150. and many others.  Please see all of Our Services and the Rates page -- or call with your questions now.

Richwood Script & Media offers
Script Readings

Blair Richwood started in the business as an actor and knows the value of a role written to be played.  If general coverage or feedback complains that a script "reads too slow" or "isn't funny enough", our service helps you hear it for yourself to decide what works.  The value of hearing your leading lovers declare their passion, or listening to your lines get honest laughs -- hopefully not both at the same time -- cannot be over-stated.  It is a crucial part of determining what is good, tight, right, wrong or off that can't be achieved without a smartly-assembled cast of professional actors reading the script aloud around a table.  Every production does it.  Why wait?

Your Professional Table Reading

Writers, directors, producers, executives and their guests can hear for themselves what works and what doesn't, proving where the gold is and where it needs to be.  Your script is cast and narrated by confidentiality-claused working actors who bring your work to life but never discuss it outside the room.  They don't know the title or the people involved unless you choose to tell them.  No dialogue polish or casting submission should happen without our Table Reading.

You may have the actors improvise a scene, or you can quiz them about beats, ask for feedback and get valuable insights that only trained actors can offer about a role.  Blair Richwood narrates and hosts a stress-free and productive reading in a workshop setting, elegant conference room or the approved location of your choice.  A minimum of four actors voice the roles (an additional six are recommended) as you close your eyes and just listen.

For a minimum and a small fee per actor, your screenplay comes alive for that final revision -- with qualified feedback available.  Script copies, light refreshments, parking and deliveries are invoiced at cost; specialty casting (singers, children, little people, etc.) available for an extra fee.  The positive results are astounding.  Bookings are limited -- schedule two weeks in advance when possible.  Please see our Rates page for pricing.
